Bari Imam complex Phase 1: Contractor given until Dec 31
This year alone, Rs136 million was transferred to the CDA by the ICT.

The contractor for the Bari Imam Complex has been given until December 31 to complete the first phase of the project. The deadline was given by Islamabad Chief Commissioner Tariq Mahmood Pirzada in a Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration meeting on Wednesday. Despite the passage of four years, the Rs641 million project has yet to be completed. The ICT project, being executed by the CDA, was awarded to a Lahore-based private construction company, United Engineers, and construction work started in April 2008. This year alone, Rs136 million was transferred to the CDA by the ICT. Project Director Ayaz Khan informed the chief commissioner that 80% of work on the first phase has been completed. He said the main building of the shrine, the courtyard and the arcade have been completed, and that the CDA has paid outstanding bills to the contractor. The chief commissioner also reviewed the status of the 2,800 square metre block to be constructed adjacent to the ICT Administration Complex in G-11/4. The new block will house various ICT departments.
