Crime: One injured in low-intensity explosion

The bomb weighed about 3 kilograms, says DIG Ali Sher

GILGIT:
A woman was injured after a low-intensity explosive went off in a busy market in Gilgit on Wednesday. Deputy Inspector General of Police Ali Sher said the improvised explosive device was planted 20 metres from the city police station, outside a hotel near Pull Road market, and exploded at 4pm. The bomb weighed about 3 kilograms, he added. Khan said that a passerby woman sustained minor injuries and has been discharged from the hospital after receiving first aid. “It could be an attempt to create panic and sabotage sectarian harmony,” said Khan. He said the area has been cordoned off and a search operation is underway.
