IDEAS 2012: MQM reschedules referendum
The party has decided to reschedule the referendum to November 14.
KARACHI:
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has rescheduled its planned referendum from November 8 as the date clashes with the country’s most prominent arms fair. The MQM had announced a countrywide referendum for public opinion on a question – whether people would like to live in a Pakistan run by the Taliban or the one that the Quaid-e-Azam envisioned. The party has decided to reschedule the referendum to November 14 after the Rangers Karachi director-general spoke to the Sindh governor about it. The party decided that the referendum had to be rescheduled for the sake of “national interest”.
