Lahore BISE: Supplementary exams begin

Of the 34,757 candidates appearing in the examinations, 21,219 were boys and 13,538 girls, said a BISE statement.

The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education’s (BISE) Supplementary Intermediate Examinations 2012 began on Tuesday with 34,757 candidates appearing for tests on the first day.The board is conducting the exams at 87 centres including 15 in Kasur, six in Nankana Sahab, nine in Sheikhupura and 57 in Lahore. Of the 34,757 candidates appearing in the examinations, 21,219 were boys and 13,538 girls, said a BISE statement. BISE Chairman Muhammad Nasrullah Virk said that all invigilation staff had been directed to ensure that the examinations are held in a transparent manner in an environment free of external influence, in view of recent cheating incidents involving students and teachers.  The board has also employed mobile inspectors to check examination centres and send immediate reports to the board as per the chairman’s directions.
