Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has said losses worth six to seven billion dollars have been recorded from the floods in the country so far.
In a nationwide radio address on Friday, the prime minister appreciated the role of the armed forces in dealing with the catastrophe. He also appealed to the nation to help the flood victims in their time of need.
Gilani asserted that the government's top priority is the rehabilitation of displaced people.
He said more than four billion rupees have been collected in the Prime Minister's flood relief fund and more donations are also coming in.
The prime minister also said the flood victims will be registered before their rehabilitation.
