Govt finalises plans for dengue conference

Technical sessions will start on the afternoon of November 10 and working groups will be formed on November 11.

Arrangements have been finalised for the International Dengue Conference on November 10 and 11 in the city.


The conference would start at 10.00am at Aiwan-i-Iqbal. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony, will give prizes to outstanding participants of an anti-dengue campaign in the province.


A meeting was held at the Committee Room of the Civil Secretariat on Monday. The meeting, chaired by Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Health Khwaja Salman Rafique, finalised arrangement for the conference.

The meeting was informed that diplomats and experts from Sri Lanka, Thailand and Singapore would participate in the conference. Representatives of the World Health Organisation and UNICEF are also invited.

The meeting was told that there would be a dinner on November 10 at Hazoori Bagh. Technical sessions will start on the afternoon of November 10 and working groups will be formed on November 11. Recommendations of the working groups will be documented at the concluding session on November 11 at the CM’s Secretariat.
