Sarah clinches first title in US

Former Pakistan number one Sarah Mehboob Khan lifted her first singles title at the University of New Mexico Fall Invitational Championship, as she defeated Anastasiya Sylenko 6-1, 6-2 in Albuquerque yesterday.
Sarah remained undefeated in the two-day championship. She beat Alice Walker 7-5, 6-4 in the first round and outplayed Denna Irvin 6-0, 6-0 to qualify for the final.
“I have been training quite hard for the championship and in the process, had to deal with some nagging injuries as well,” said Sarah. “However, my hard work paid off and I was able to win for my college.”
