Rescue 15: Over 500,000 calls received this year

The IGP appreciated the services of Rescue 15 and directed to maintain the quality of service.

Rescue 15 has received a total of 501,409 calls this year so far, said a press release on Sunday. According to the report presented to the Islamabad Inspector General of Police Bani Amin Khan, 174,798 calls were regarding general information, while 1,008 calls were related to ambulance service. The helpline received 4,801 emergency calls and 324 calls regarding missing and traced persons. In addition, 416 calls were related to the bomb disposal squad. The IGP appreciated the services of Rescue 15 and directed to maintain the quality of service with dedication and professionalism. He appealed to the people to avoid making hoax calls for their own benefit. “It is the duty of every police officer to provide protection to citizens and provide them with immediate help in case of emergency,” he said, adding that community policing can only be ensured by bridging the gap between the police and public.
