Village dispute: Jirga chief gunned down in Swabi
"The body was taken to the civil hospital for autopsy and then buried in his home town", says SHO.
SWABI:
Former vice-Nazim and social activist Fazal Hussain was killed in Galla village of Swabi on Saturday night.
Topi police SHO Qaisar Khan said Hussain, who was also a local jirga chief, was gunned down at around 8:30pm. He added that the social activist was killed because of his disagreements with some people in the village over certain social issues, particularly the village’s social welfare fund.
The victim parked his vehicle in a garage outside his house and was walking to his house when two people, Parvaiz and Nauroz, who have been accused for the murder, sprayed him with bullets and escaped.
“They shot him in the back with an assault rifle and when he fell to the ground they opened fire at point blank range,” the SHO told The Express Tribune. Ajmal Khan, the brother of the deceased has lodged an FIR against the accused men.
The SHO said that the body was taken to the civil hospital for autopsy and then buried in his home town.
