Preserving heritage: Hindko conference to present academic work on region
Two-day event will be held from November 17 to November 18.

In an effort to protect languages from extinction, the Gandhara Hindko Board (GHB) has organised an international conference to promote Hindko.
In the two-day conference, to be held from November 17 to November 18, scholars will portray the culture, art, music and other heritage of Hindko speaking regions through their work.
The conference, supported by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government, will be attended by diplomatic cultural attaches of other countries as well. The event will be held at the Archives Library Hall, Peshawar.
In a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Sunday, GHB General Secretary Ziauddin said that at least 10 researchers will give their presentations on the influence of Hindko on regional languages of Pakistan.
“This year’s motto of the conference is to promote Hindko language and culture, and to restore peace in the region,” said Ziauddin.
He added that more than 30 organisations and institutions have been requested to send their representatives to the conference.
