Tortured, shot dead: Six killed across Karachi

Two bodies were recovered in gunny bags from the Garden East area of Solider Bazaar.

Six people were killed in firing incidents across Karachi, while five including a police official sustained injuries, Express News reported Sunday.

Two bodies were recovered in gunny bags from the Garden East area of Solider Bazaar. According to police, the victims were first tortured and then shot dead.

A man named Hammad Hussain was killed in a firing incident, while another man named Ameen Lashari was shot dead in Liaquat Market located in the Saudabad area of Malir.

Saleem Sadiq was gunned down on MT Road and Zafar Hussain was killed in a firing incident in the Gulbahar area of Orangi Town.


Four people sustained injured in two different firing incidents, one near Safari Park and another near Lal Flats located at Johar Mor.

A police official named Ashraf sustained injuries during a firing incident in near Bolton Market.

During a National Assembly session in September, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, giving details about violence in Karachi, had said that a total of 1,363 people have lost their lives at the hands of target killers during the past five years.

Giving a breakdown of the figure, Malik said that 104 people had been killed in year 2008, 160 in 2009, 373 in 2010, 478 in 2011 and 248 so far in 2012.
