CJP praises ECP, political parties for placing trust in judiciary

Chief Justice Chaudhry states the importance of today's date in the history of the judiciary.

SHEIKHUPURA: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry commended the Election Commission and political parties for recommitting their trust in the judiciary, reported Radio Pakistan.

Addressing lawyers at the Sheikhupura Bar Association, he said that November 3 is a momentous day in the history of independence of judiciary.

On this date in 2007, lawyers launched a crucial movement to emancipate the judiciary from the control of a dictator, said Chaudhry to the Sheikhupura Bar Association.
