The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has announced its decision “to liberate Karachi” from the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), adding that “every step would be taken against them.”
In a statement issued on Friday, TTP spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan said that the decision has been taken to set the people of Karachi free from the clutches of “these persecutors”.
Furthermore, Ehsan called on the leaders of all nationalist parties, including the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Sindh Liberation Army, to struggle for their rights in “an Islamic way”.
“Islam protects everyone’s right and you (nationalist parties) are passing through dark ages of oppression and this shackle of suppression has to be broken down,” the statement read.
Earlier, MQM had announced that it would hold a referendum throughout Pakistan, urging people to vote on whether they want to live in a Pakistan run by the Taliban, or the one envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam.

TTP you are gone and shame on the mentalities who support them.
People of Pakistan must realize that terrorists taking over Karachi would be a defeat for Quaid-e-Azam and his Pakistan, not of a party. So those who matter and are entrusted to defend Quaid's Pakistan must come up and prove that they have buried the policy of considering them as First Line of Defense
Its deeply sad that few people are welcoming this threat of Talibans to the people of karachi just because they are going to target MQM,
If talibans takes control it means total anarchy, no religious harmoney no education. !! and Islam of their own kind.
@PakArmySoldier:
. They should court martial cowards, incompetents, and traitors first...these are the clear and present danger to Pakistan.
I lovi think its time for mohajirs to unite and defeat taleban all over the country.
In fact, Pakistan is passing from the dark ages. 200 years ago the Europe passed through these times and then they decided that theocracy be separated from the organs of the state, that's how they emerged from the darkness. Can you imagine the reign of country in the hands of throat slitters and kidnap for ransom maniacs, it will be some thing more then dark ages.
Sindhi nationalists are hard core seculars. G.M syed, the father of modern sindhi nationalism, was a practicing sufi himself. He believed in peacefull coexistance and religious harmony. He believed that Sindhudesh should be established for spreading sufi ism. When asked what are his views about taliban, then fighting in afghanistan and being trained by pakistan, his reply was "what they (pakistani establishment) are spitting today, they'll have to lick the same tomorrow" the sentence shows his hatred for Taliban and their mentors. No wonder, a fatwa was issued against him, declaring him to be a kafir! Sindhi nationalists are most anti taliban people. They'll fight against them, on their own, rather than joining them.
I think they don't know that, Sindh Liberation Army and Baloch LIberation army are seculars .
Pakistan envisioned by Mr. Jinnah has no place for MQM.
Sindh Liberation Army is so minor, it can't even be taken too seriously. The reason the Taliban has been able to survive in the Northern regions is because the environment there is highly conservative. In Karachi, it's a bit different. They won't last a minute in Karachi because the ideology of Karachiites is far less radical. It can't form a base there.
Now here is the threat to the Pakistan state and its constituents from the TTP. Will Pak act now atleast ?. No wonder, no main stream political parties condemned TTP directly for the attack on Malala but were in unison in their attack for the massacre at Salala.
Atleast someone is thinking to save the people of Karachi.
The army's proxies on expected lines have challenged MQM as it has a big base in Karachi and are in process of making inroads in other major cities.
Things just got interesting for MQM. This war will not end with victory against war against terror. Taleban will ensurs breakup of the country with support for nationalist parties. All our hardcore friends should keep away from these terrorists.
Taliban and the mullahs who perpetuate their ideology represents an existential threat to Pakistan. Tackling Taliban is not enough, we need to apprehend and prosecute people who support them, irrespective of who they're.
