Sharjeel asks ECP to disqualify Nawaz Sharif

Minister Sharjeel Memon says Nawaz Sharif was 'brainchild of dictatorship' and he should not be called a politician.

KARACHI:

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has requested the Election Commission of Pakistan to disqualify the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader, Nawaz Sharif.

He said that Nawaz was the ‘brainchild of dictatorship’ and his propaganda and conspiracies against the present government have failed. Memon said that the Asghar Khan case has revealed Nawaz Sharif’s true nature and he has now become a ‘sale commodity’ after the Supreme Court’s verdict.

“Time and again I have said that he is not eligible to be called a politician. In the next elections, I assure you, Nawaz Sharif will not even be able to show his face to the people,” said Memon.

The information minister was confident that the Pakistan Peoples Party will win the upcoming elections with more seats than the 2008 elections.

“Basic facilities such as electricity, gas and pure drinking water were provided to far-flung areas of Sindh during the present government’s tenure,” he said. He added that besides employment, tractors on subsidised rates and accommodation will be provided to the people. “The government will also distribute agricultural land to farmers and landless women free of cost.”

Memon alleged that Nawaz received money from illegal means to form the Islami Jamhoori Ittehad party and also acquired a large amount of money from Osama Bin Laden to topple Benazir Bhutto’s government. “He is not a worthy politician and should be disqualified immediately.”
