Security measures: Over a dozen suspects nabbed

The arrested suspects were shifted to different lock ups for investigations.

ISLAMABAD:
To weed out suspicious elements from the city before the start of Muharram, a search operation was coducted by the police on Tuesday. Over a dozen people who failed to prove their identity were nabbed. Such steps are being taken to ensure better preparedness for the month of Muharram. The two main processions of Muharram are held on 8th and 9th of the month in G-6/2 and G-9/1, said an official. Aabpara, Kohsar and Secretariat polices, in their respective jurisdiction, nabbed over dozen suspects who failed to provide their identity cards. Police raided at different location including houses, under-construction buildings, hotels and slums. The arrested suspects were shifted to different lock ups for investigations. Police said most them did not possess proper documentation to prove their stay in Islamabad.
