LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial postponed the hearing of the petition against drone attacks filed by the Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed.  The CJ postponed the hearing as the counsel for the petitioner A K Dogar could not appear before the court. The hearing is now deferred till November 28. On Monday, the LHC took up the petition filed by Hafiz Saeed last year after he filed an application requesting the court to speed up the process of the case. The petitioner submitted that the matter was a sensitive one and needed immediate attention. The petition said that the federal government should be directed to make information public and that keeping information from the public was a violation of their fundamental rights. He sought directions to declare drone strikes against the international law and needed to be stopped by the federal government.
