Police approached the apex court against the PHC verdict but failed to obtain a stay order.
PESHAWAR:
Peshawar High Court (PHC) has issued orders to the provincial police chief to recruit sons of the fallen policemen in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Police. A PHC division bench comprising Justice Mian Fasihul Mulk and Mrs Justice Irshad Qaisar issued directives to K-P IGP Akbar Khan Hoti to either obtain against its verdict or recruit the petitioner in K-P police before November 22. The bench gave the order while hearing a contempt petition filed by Adnan Sher, Shad Muhammad and three others. The petitioners’ counsel informed the bench that the police chief has failed to comply with the court earlier orders issued on November 22, 2011 to recruit his clients in the police force. He said, the police approached the apex court against the PHC verdict but failed to obtain a stay order.
