PPP Khairpur rally firing 'mastermind' killed in police crossfire
Suspect killed in crossfire as aides attempted to break him out of prison.

The alleged mastermind behind the firing at a Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) rally in Khairpur was killed in crossfire with the police on Tuesday, Express News has reported.
Lawmaker Syeda Nafeesa Shah, daughter of Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, had been scheduled to address the rally in Khairpur.
Aides of the accused, Azizullah, attacked the Bagarji police station the previous night and freed him after taking hostage the policemen present there, officials said.
However, after the escape, police and the assailants engaged in crossfire, resulting in Azizullah’s death.
Police initiated a search operation after the assailants managed to escape.
At least six people, including a journalist, were killed and another 10 were injured when gunmen opened fire on the public rally in Sadoro Janwri Village near Khairpur.
The police had arrested Azizullah Janwri, a close relative of Niaz Janwri, from Bahawalpur earlier this month.
