Tremors jolt north western Pakistan

An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale struck near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on Sunday evening.
Express News reported that the tremors were felt in the north western parts of Pakistan including Swat, Mardan, Chitral, Mansehra and Abbottabad areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa along with Gilgit-Baltistan. The termors were felt as far as Murree and Sargodha in Punjab.
The United States Geological Survey noted that the epicenter of the earthquake was almost 48 kilometers south west of Afghan town of Ashkasham, in the Badakhshan province.
There were no immediate reports of any damage.
