Armed personnel will be deployed to provide cover to the worshippers on Eidul Azha in the garrison city.
City Police Officer (CPO) Azhar Hameed Khokhar has ordered foolproof security arrangements all over the district to ensure maintenance of law and to protect people’s lives.
The CPO said the comprehensive security plan prepared in consultation with stakeholders would be strictly implemented.
He directed the police to remain on high alert to avert any untoward incident.
He called upon law enforcement agencies to ensure an effective system of intelligence sharing.
Earlier, Rawalpindi Commissioner Imdadullah Bosal said the City District Government Rawalpindi has completed all arrangements to clean the city on Eid.
Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) has banned the entry of sacrificial animals in the city.
Special teams have been constituted to book sacrificial animals besides imposing heavy fine on their owners.
