Crime and accidents: Three killed, three injured in Haripur
One shot dead, two die in road accidents.
HARIPUR:
Three persons were killed and three others were injured in separate incidents on Tuesday.
In the first incident, body of a man was found dumped in Khanpur area. Police said Nawaz, son of Munawar of Choee village, was shot dead by unknown assailants and his body dumped in a deserted area.
In the second incident, a teenager was killed after being run over by a tractor trolley in Pharhala village. Police and witnesses said that Fahd Shah, 14, was standing on the roadside when the driver of the tractor trolley lost control over the vehicle and ran Shah over.
The third death was reported in Sera-e-Saleh, where Syed Fiaz Shah, son of a milkman Sajjad Shah, was killed after he crashed into a roadside tree while travelling on a motorbike.
Meanwhile, three people were shot injured after they put up resistance in a mugging near Khanpur spillway.
Police quoted Crush Machine Owners’ Association Khanpur President Haji Walayat Khan as saying that a dozen masked men armed with AK-47 rifles intercepted labourers, driers and owners of crush machines while they were sleeping near the Khanpur spillway at around 1 am.
The armed men took away Rs200,000 and 10 mobile phones from their possession. When three of the victims tried to put up resistance, they were shot and injured, the police added.
The injured were identified as Abdullah Khan, Juma Khan and Javed.
