Arrangements: 8,000 policemen to be deployed for Eid

More than 8,000 policemen will be deputed across the city to perform security duties during Eid, Inspector Aamir Waheed said on Monday.


He said the security plan had been finalised in a meeting held on Monday with the city police officer in chair. He said the CPO discussed the arrangements with senior officer.

Inspector Waheed said that some 1,004 Eid congregations will be held in Faisalabad district. He said 4,000 constables, 3,000 police volunteers, 306 head constables, 448 assistant sub inspectors, 215 sub inspectors, 29 inspectors, seven deputy superintendents and six superintendents will provide security to these congregations.

He said the CPO had also constituted 10 special Elite Force teams to patrol the district during Eid. For this purpose, he said, the district had been divided into five sectors and the police stations concerned had been directed to ensure foolproof security in their areas.
