A Guinness World Record official verified the record. Monday's record set in Lahore smashes a five-year-old record set in Hong Kong.
"It's amazing, amazing display of unity of 24,200 people here in Lahore tonight," Guinness World Records adjudicator Gareth Deaves told a cheering crowd.
"Every single one of you holds this record," he said, handing over the certificate to Punjab provincial government representative Hamza Shahbaz Sharif.
Another record of creating the largest human mosaic picture was also set on Monday.
On Sunday, Pakistan set a record for breaking the most number of records in one day.
A weekend of bizarre record attempts in Lahore began on Saturday night when 42,813 people in the National Hockey Stadium sang the national anthem together, smashing the previous best of 15,243 held by India.
On Sunday, Mohammad Mansha went flat out to set a new record for making chapatis (breads) – mixing, kneading, spinning and cooking three in three minutes and 14 seconds – while 12-year-old Mehek Gul took just 45 seconds to arrange the pieces on a chessboard using only one hand.

We don't celebrate the lives of Dr. Abdus Salam, Dr. Saleem uz Zaman Siddique, Dr. Munir Ahmed Khan, Hakim Saeed and many others who made an actual difference in the lives of many in this country and around the world. Its just a shame.
Makes me glad to read such news. Unity is what we need during these trying times. Long live Pakistan.
@Khurram Awan: So true....
Another useless record down. How about we try to make a record in education, in science, in technology, in research, in engineering, you know anything useful in the world and which will make us grow faster and become stronger! We really have to focus on becoming number 1 in things thats matter and not this useless stuff that is done to make the public forget how we are terrible in each important field of research and technological advancement. And for anyone who thinks Im an Indian, I can tell you Im a born and raised Karachite from N Nazimabad living in the US now.
I'm truly impressed. Keeping them Guinness officials busy :) Well Done Pakistan youth. That's the spirit. Flag looks beautiful
