Champions League T20: Chennai register comfortable win

Yorkshire ended their Champions League T20 campaign winless after Chennai Super Kings coasted to a four-wicket win yesterday.

Put into bat, Yorkshire were indebted to Gary Ballance who made a 38-ball 58 to help his team register a somewhat respectable total.

The middle-order batsman hit five sixes and a boundary after Albei Morkel and Doug Bollinger dented the Yorkshire team with two wickets apiece.

In reply, Chennai were largely untroubled with Suresh Raina, Subramaniam Badrinath and MS Dhoni all contributing with important knocks to take the team past the finish line.

Badrinath made 47 as Chennai overhauled the modest target in the 19th over.

Ian Wardlaw, Steven Patterson and Oliver Hannon-Dalby claimed two wickets each.

Chennai won two matches out of their four games, while Yorkshire head back with three defeats and a no-result to show during their campaign.
