Cross border attack: Mortar shells fired into Bajaur

About four mortar shells fired from the Afghan side landed in village in Bajaur Agency, injuring two girls, an official said on Sunday. The border village, Kaga, has been under attack from across the Durand Line since Wednesday, the political administration official for Mamond sub-division, Faramosh Khan, told The Express Tribune. About 20 mortar shells have been fired till now. The victims were mostly children grazing their cattle in the hills and cattle heads, he added. In August, militants had mounted a major cross-border attack in the Batwar area in the Salarzai tehsil of Bajaur. Security forces had forced the attackers to retreat after two weeks of fighting.
