Ill health: Supreme Court judge hospitalised

Justice Muhammad Athar Saeed of the Pakistan Supreme Court was admitted to the Aga Khan Hospital on Saturday night.


Offices at the SC Karachi Registry did not share details about his ailment. Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry paid Justice Saeed a visit at the hospital shortly after he was admitted.

The judge is part of the six-member bench which will hear the case regarding implementation of apex court’s judgment, passed earlier for law and order situation in Karachi, based on suo motu proceedings.

Headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, the bench - comprising Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany, Justice Amir Hani Muslim, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Saeed - will hear the case on October 23. The court has not issued any changes in the bench after news of Justice Saeed’s ill health.
