Targeted attacks: IED blast damages petrol pump, CD store

Two low intensity bombs planted on Frontier Road went off at around 6am.

A petrol pump was partially damaged when two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by unidentified militants exploded in the Faqirabad area of Akkakhel in Khyber Agency on Saturday.



A security official said that two low intensity bombs planted on Frontier Road went off at around 6am, adding that no loss of life was reported. “Cracks appeared in the walls of a nearby pump due to the impact of the explosions,” he said.

CD shop targeted

Four people were injured and three shops were damaged when a low-intensity homemade bomb went off at Scheme Chowk on Kohat Road on Saturday. It was planted by unidentified miscreants and exploded around 7:30pm, leaving four injured, including Hajra and her 11-year-old brother Bashir. Two others sustained minor injuries. This is the fifth blast targeting music stores in the area in two years.
