Crime: Father, accomplices arrested for kidnapping infant

HARIPUR: 

Five men were arrested by the Haripur police on Saturday for kidnapping an infant. The six-month-old boy was recovered and handed over to his mother. The arrested men also included the child’s father, police said.

An official of the Haripur City Police said a woman named Sana Bibi, resident of Katlang area of Mardan, lodged a complaint that her former husband, Faizan, had kidnapped her son.

She said that Faizan, from whom she had gotten a divorce from one-and-a-half-year back, believes that the child is their’s and he has been asking her to hand over the child to him.

She said that on Friday evening Faizan came over to a women’s hostel where she has been staying, requesting only to see their son.

But as Bibi came out with her child, Faizan and his accomplices Furqan, Sheryar, Junaid and two others snatched the infant and fled.

Police intercepted the accused near Jolian and recovered the child, however, one of the accused escape. The men were held under section 365/34 of the PPC.
