Retired DSP’s murder suspect identified
Three men accused of target killings in the city were identified by witnesses in separate courts on Wednesday.

Three men accused of target killings in the city were identified by witnesses in separate courts on Wednesday.
Judicial Magistrate South Sadaruddin Buriro ordered for a man, charged with killing retired DSP Raheem Bangash, to be kept in the custody of the police for further interrogation till September 8 after he was identified by witnesses.
The suspect, Abu Irfan alias Urfi, was produced in court by the Meethadar police. The two witnesses pointed him out during an identification parade. The retired DSP was shot dead on December 24, 2008. Irfan is also a suspect in the murder case of DSP Nawaz Ranjha and his driver, who were gunned down on Aug 16 on MA Jinnah Road.
Similarly, two activists of the banned Laskhar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ), Mohammad Waseem alias Barudi and Abdullah, accused of killing Shia doctor Hassan Haider, were identified by a witness in the court of Judicial Magistrate South Shujaat Mirza.
Dr Haider was shot dead in Railway Colony on June 3 this year.
