Two new cases of polio surface: WHO
Total number of polio cases rise to 47.
KARACHI:
At least two children were diagnosed with polio on Friday, the World Health Organisation (WHO) reported.
Najibullah, son of Islam Din, was diagnosed with polio in Balochistan. The 38-months old is a resident of village of Killi Lawara from UC Danasar, district Sherani.
The boy apparently missed immunisation because his parents reportedly refused all campaigns owing to religious issues.
A second child was diagnosed with type one polio in Swabi. Aiman, 26-months old, is the daughter of Mursaleen and a resident of village Batlasai Wand, UC Kotha Tehsil Topi.
This brings the total number of cases in the country to 47.
