Rageshwari Loomba visit: Pleasant treat for kids at orphanage
A documentary film on Pakistan Sweet Home was also shown.
ISLAMABAD:
A famous Indian singer and social worker brought smiles to the faces of children at a local orphanage on Friday. Rageshwari Loomba took time out of her trip to Pakistan to visit Pakistan Sweet Home in Islamabad.
The event was organised by the Pakistan Baitul Maal (PBM) in the honour of Loomba, who was the chief guest. Tariq Khursheed, deputy managing director of PBM, was also present.
The main objective of the event was to introduce the children to the Indian actress, who has been in Pakistan for a week, said Khursheed.
The children sang, danced and interacted with Loomba as the singer performed some of her famous songs, bringing smiles to their faces.
The children also performed, putting on a tableau, singing national songs and reciting poems. A documentary film on Pakistan Sweet Home was also shown.
“I’m here to share love and I have brought a message of goodwill and best wishes for the children from the Indian people,” Loomba said, while appreciating the confidence, ambition and talent of the children.
Loomba said that the management of PBM is playing a vital role by helping orphans, which are an important element of any society.
“Artists can play a fundamental role in the progress and success of organisations such as Pakistan Sweet Home,” Loomba said.
Khursheed said that there are over 3,000 orphans currently living in Pakistan Sweet Home orphanages.
