Waseem storms into Combat Games final
Waseem defeated Romania’s Memekee Bnder 2-1 in the last-four match.
KARACHI:
Seasoned Pakistan pugilist Muhammad Waseem marched into the final of the Combat Games after defeating Romania’s Memekee Bnder 2-1 in the last-four match.
Waseem, the only Pakistani boxer left in the mega event after four others were knocked out in the earlier rounds, overcame his opponent to confirm a clash for the gold medal with Dagoverto Agoero of Dominica Republic.
“I am satisfied with my performance but the job is still only half done. I request the nation to pray for my victory in the final,” said Waseem, in a message released by Pakistan Boxing Federation.
“I will try my level best to win since I’m the only player from my country left in the competition.”
