Retrieving graveyard land: MPA transfers official doing his job
The case will be heard before PHC Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan on November 15.
PESHAWAR:
An official complying with the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) orders has become a victim of political interference after he demolished a building built on encroached graveyard land. Tehsildar Abdullah said that he earlier received instructions to regain all encroached land. However, he was warned by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Zameen Khan to stay away from 60 marlas of encroached land. Despite this, Abdullah demolished the building on October 15. Two hours after he destroyed the building he received a call that he had been relocated to Upper Dir. He filed an application at PHC requesting that the transfer orders be suspended. The case will be heard before PHC Chief Justice (CJ) Dost Muhammad Khan on November 15.
