Poor performance: DPO orders action against 18 cops

BAHAWALPUR: Distict Police Officer Sohail Habib Tajik on Thursday ordered disciplinary action against four inspectors, five sub inspectors (SIs) and nine assistant sub inspectors (ASIs) over negligence. The decision was made in an orderly room at the DPO office. The district police officer said that incompetence will not be forgiven and that corrupt officials needed to ‘mend their ways’. Sub Inspector Muhammad Akram was demoted to assistant sub inspector. Promotion of SI Rafique, SI Ahmad Hassan, ASI Muhammad Iqbal and ASI Rehmat Shah was stopped. Three increments of ASI Ghulam Yaseen and two of ASI Muhammad Aslam were stopped. Inspector Afzal Lodhi, Inspector Irshad Haider, Inspector Imran Ahmad, Inspector Rana Ali Akbar, SI Muhammad Lateef, SI Ghulam Murtaza, ASI Jahangir Ahmad and ASI Mujahid Ali were given punishments.
