PESHAWAR: Two guards stationed at 14-year-old child activist Malala Yousufzai’s school were released after being taken into custody for interrogation, Express News reported on Wednesday.

Malala, who was shot by the Taliban is currently under treatment at a hospital in Birmingham where she faces a slow but sure road to recovery.

Two other officials at the school are also in custody for interrogation.

Doctors at the British hospital where Malala is currently receiving treatment said that she is making visible progress, but will require reconstructive surgery.

Malala was in a stable condition on her first full day in Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham after being flown to the city in central England in an air ambulance.

Given that she was targeted for assassination by a Taliban gunman, security measures are in place at the hospital.

A West Midlands Police spokesman had said two “well-wishers” were questioned by officers who took their details and turned them away.
