Simplification of procedures: SMEs demand easier credit
The scheme for supporting small traders was first introduced during interim set up headed by Engineer Shamsul Mulk.

Small traders of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) demanded simplification in the procedure for obtaining soft loan under the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) credit line scheme of the provincial government. Talking to APP, several SME owners complained that the conditionality of the recommendation of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) was creating hurdles in obtaining loans under the scheme. The scheme for supporting small traders was first introduced during the interim set up headed by Engineer Shamsul Mulk. The scheme remained dormant for a period of three years. However, the present provincial government reactivated and included its annual development programme through allocating a fund of Rs200 million for it.
