Maintenance: Gilgit without power since Sunday
The extended outage has hit the residents hard, with many finding it difficult to carry out daily activities.

It has been almost two days since power supply to Gilgit was suspended and officials concerned are still unsure when the supply will resume.
“We are hopeful that power will be restored tonight but we cannot say that with certainty,” Shamsur Rahman, an official of the 18 megawatt Naltar hydropower plant told The Express Tribune.
He reiterated that work on the power plant necessitated suspension of power supply to Gilgit.
The extended outage has hit the residents hard, with many finding it difficult to carry out daily activities.
“I couldn’t send my children to school because there was no water available due to loadshedding and I couldn’t even iron their clothes,” said a local woman.
“It has been around 40 hours since power supply was cut,” she lamented.
Power supply to Giglit was suspended at 2am on Sunday without intimating people.
