Almost Final: PIMS new ED to be from outside

ISLAMABAD:

Despite massive opposition, the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences’ (Pims) new executive director (ED) will not be chosen from within the hospital.

The Prime Minister on Monday approved the appointment of Prof Riaz Ahmad Warraich as the new Pims ED, sources at the PM Secretariat told The Express Tribune.

Sources said that an official notification is likely to be issued in a “couple of days”. Warraich was previously serving as the head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at King Edward Medical University.
