KARACHI: At least four people were wounded in a grenade attack near the Napier police station on Monday. Two unidentified suspects on a motorcycle lobbed a hand grenade at the scrap shop owned by Saleem Memon, police said. Four passersby identified as Adam, 70, Asadullah, 38, Mohammad Jumman, 32 and Ram Chand, 58 were injured. They were taken to Civil hospital. The criminals apparently wanted to coax the scrap dealer into paying extortion money, said SHO Aslam Gujjar. However, Saleem Memon told the police that he did not receive any extortion slip. The case has not been registered.
