Growing requirements: President approves Army Cardiac Centre

Number of patients at CMH Lahore for cardiac medical treatment exceeded beyond its capacity.

President Asif Ali Zardari on the advice of Prime Minister Pervaiz Ashraf has approved establishment of Army Cardiac Centre (ACC) at Lahore to cater to the growing requirements of cardiac treatment facility to Army personnel, their families and the people of surrounding areas, an official handout said on Saturday.


The summary received in this regard said that the number of patients at CMH Lahore for the facility of cardiac medical treatment exceeded beyond its capacity, which therefore necessitated the establishment of Army Cardiac Centre.


The president also accorded his approval to the appointment of Justice Ghulam Sarwar Korai and Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, Additional Judges of High Court of Sindh, as permanent judges of the Sindh High Court. These appointments shall be deemed to have been made with effet from September 17.

President Zardari on the advice of prime minister approved conferment of the Pride of Performance award upon Ustad Naseeruddin Saami. The Award would be presented to Ustad Naseeruddin in the forthcoming Investiture Ceremony on 23rd March 2013.

Ustad Naseeruddin Saami is one of Pakistan’s most important exponents of Indian classical music. His gamut comprises a variety of forms and styles, including khayal, the ‘elaborative’ style of singing attributed to Amir Khusrow; sadra, a hybrid of Khayal and Hindu devotional chants and the light classical forms of thumri and dadra.
