Immunisation: Three-day polio drive begins tomorrow
Thirty-four million children will be vaccinated during the three days.
ISLAMABAD:
A three-day national polio immunisation campaign will start from Monday to vaccinate children below the age of five, across the country. A special ceremony has been organised to inaugurate the campaign at Aiwan-e-Sadar on Monday, October 15. President Asif Ali Zardari, governors of all provinces, prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and all chief secretaries will participate in the ceremony. Ambassador of Japan Hiroshi Oe, representatives of international organisations including the World Health Organisation, United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF), Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID, Rotary International and Japan International Cooperation Agency will also be present. Thirty-four million children will be vaccinated during the three days.
