Raising awareness: National Voters Day on Oct 17
In meeting held in Islamabad on Saturday, ECP gave finishing touches to National Voters Day preparations.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will celebrate October 17 as the National Voters Day. The commission intends to convey messages aimed at increasing voter turnout for the upcoming elections at a grass roots level in order to ensure the prosperity of a democratic system.
In meeting held in Islamabad on Saturday, ECP gave finishing touches to National Voters Day preparations. Representatives from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) and other ECP communication partners attended the meeting.
ECP Acting Secretary Muhammad Afzal Khan said Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has issued directions to all secretaries from federal ministries and divisions to actively assist the commission in creating awareness for active participation in the electoral process across the country.
