Attack On Staff: DCET suspends academic activities till Rangers arrive
The extreme measures were taken after members of a student organisation threw a chair at the dean of engineering.
KARACHI:
The Dawood College of Engineering and Technology (DCET) suspended its academic activities on Saturday and also decided to approach Rangers for maintaining security at its campus.
The extreme measures were taken after members of a student organisation threw a chair at the varsity’s dean of engineering, Prof. Rashid Baig last Thursday.
The professor was reportedly stopping the student organisation from holding an after-hours event on the college’s premises. The university also decided to hire security guards who will work alongside police and Rangers, and will prevent anyone without valid identification from entering the campus.
Academic activities at DCET will remain suspended until the new security measures are put in place.
