Multi-label store launch: To add some pizzazz to your life
Ramp hopes to make Islamabad more fashionable by promoting local talent.
ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad-based interior designer Fouzia Noreen recently delved in to the glitzy world of fashion as she launched Ramp, a fashion house geared at bringing the latest trends to the capital city. The fashion house, located in F-8, was launched on Friday and aims at not only bringing a sense of style urgency and pizzazz to the city’s residents, but also promotes emerging designers.
“I wanted to set up a place that gives the working women and people who want to be up-to-date in fashion, to come and buy a nice dress or piece of jewellery from a one-stop shop,” said Noreen. New designer labels such as Shamas, Nooria, Desire Accessories, Lu Lu, D n F, Imran Rajput and Rangooli are just a few in the long list of names the venue is showcasing.
The event was organised by Rezz PR and was attended by celebrities and models such as Natty, Aleezay and Roshanay. Model Natasha Hussain, better known by her nickname ‘Natty’, told The Express Tribune, “There is a lack of such style houses, so it’s great that more places like this are opening up around Pakistan. Ramp is especially unique because it includes new designers from Pakistan, and merchandise from a number of other countries as well, making it truly international.”
She further noted that when she first joined the fashion industry, it was in its infancy and standing on very shaky grounds, to the extent that no one believed in its ability to flourish. The model shared that she is glad to see it taking off now, and that today, no fashion item is inaccessible to Pakistanis, as it can be made at home or easily imported.
The owner deemed ‘Ramp’ as a go-to for the working woman, as it features affordable casual wear and accessories mostly. However, Noreen has also taken men’s fashion into account by including kurtas, shirts, ties and some very interesting kolhapuri sandal designs.
Noreen hopes that ‘Ramp’ will make fashion trends more accessible to the other-wise style shy Islooites, especially since she can provide direct fashion advice and guidance to her customers.
