Heavyweights: Goats, oxen and calves compete

FAISALABAD: Goats, oxen and calves participated in a beauty contest held in Cotton Mills area on Saturday. A goat of Gujranwala’s Zeeshan won the first prize of Rs100,000. It weighed 288kg. The 274kg goat of Rahim Yar Khan’s Barkat Maggi and the 264kg goat of Faisalabad’s Haji Chand secured second and third positions, respectively. The prize for the second position was Rs50,000 and for the third Rs25,000. Awais Gujjar’s ox stood first in the oxen competition and won Rs200,000. Chaudhry Bilal’s ox secured second slot and won Rs100,000 and Haji Mansha’s ox managed to get third position with a prize of Rs50,000. The owners of all goats declared healthy and beautiful were awarded Rs10,000 each.
