‘Malala should be Ambassador for Peace’

Chaudhry Shujat Hussain, the chief of the party, put his suggestion forward to the prime minister during a meeting.

ISLAMABAD:

To acknowledge the efforts of teenage activist Malala Yousufzai, the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has suggested she be named as the country’s Ambassador for Peace and Education.

Chaudhry Shujat Hussain, the chief of the party, put his suggestion forward to the prime minister during a meeting held on Friday.

The PML-Q media office quoted Chaudhry Shujat Hussain as saying that the girl who courageously raised her voice against the Taliban for education should be named as Pakistan’s Ambassador for Peace and Education.

Hussain added that the attack on her had been condemned both nationally and internationally and the decision to make Malala ambassador would be welcomed globally, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to eliminate terrorism.
