Rashida Gul secured the top position in a handicrafts competition held during the youth festival here on Friday. As many as 43 women participated in the competition.
Chief Minister’s Advisor Malik Jahanzeb Waran, the chief guest, awarded Rs25,000 to Rashida Gul, Rs15,000 to Musarrat Bibi who stood second, and Rs10,000 to Tahira Riaz who secured the third position. Appreciation certificates were given to the participants.
Kishwar Sultana, Imran Faizyab and Anees Zahra were the judges. Addressing the attendants, Waran said the Punjab CM always followed merit and it was the key to his success, Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) Deputy Director Ashiq Hussain said there was no shortage of skilled people in Bahawalpur and its suburbs. He also said their work was popular throughout the country. PSIC Regional Director Ammara Manzoor said her organisation supported 13,284 skilled workers last year with Rs575 million grants and loans.
