Free will marriage: Couple shot dead by girl’s kin
Lubna died on the spot and Arif died on his way to hospital.

A man and a woman who married of their free will were shot dead allegedly by her family in Saddar area on Wednesday night. Police said Arif and Lubna, who belonged to Pir Mahal, had contracted marriage about two months ago. Lubna’s family had opposed the marriage. The couple had left Pir Mahal and started living at the house of Arif’s uncle Mukhtar Ahmad at Chak 209-RB, Faisalabad. On Wednesday night, some Lubna’s relatives shot the couple when they were riding a motorcycle. Lubna died on the spot and Arif died on his way to hospital.
