The arrested men were members of the home-grown Indian Mujahideen (IM) outfit and were behind a series of blasts in August in the western city of Pune that left one person injured, New Delhi police commissioner Neeraj Kumar said.
The IM is an India-based terrorist group which has carried out several attacks on civilian targets.
"With the three arrests we have prevented a major strike in Delhi," Kumar told reporters.
He said the arrests followed the interrogation of Syed Zabiuddin, who was arrested in June in connection with the 2008 Mumbai attacks which left 166 people dead. Police believe Zabiuddin belonged to the LeT.
"These three arrested men are Indian operatives and linked to a Lashkar figure [Zabiuddin] so it proves that the two groups have close links at some level," Kumar said, adding the suspects had been picked up after travelling to the capital.
The IM claimed responsibility for blasts in July 2008 in Ahmedabad city when 45 died and in Delhi two months later when 20 people were killed.

Pak is in half-neck water of terrorism , But see they blame it on Hindus . I don't want to reiterate the things , but Please check the identity of the terrorists . And without any bias, I won't mind to say that these things are very common in countries where a perticular community lives , because facts and figures say this .These people needs serious education . If These are the so called Mujahidins , then I admit I am a coward .Those who are paranoid about Hindus should come out of their self created gheto to understand and realise other communities . Perhaps that can eradicate their thought of superiority from their mind.
This is what Pakistani liberals are screaming about for ages but nobody listens. Why Pakistani people don't understand that India and USA are not our enemies. We should first abandon Let and likes and stop complaining about plight of Muslims in India. We should also support drone strikes which is very effective against terrorists who would have otherwise killed many innocent civilians and precious US marines. After all, India and the US are great democracies and we love them so much!
