Vettel warned to be more cautious
Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel has been told to temper his driving after his rash manoeuvre.
SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, BELGIUM:
Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel has been told to temper his driving after his rash manoeuvre at the Belgian Grand Prix led to a pointless finish.
The German lost control of his car and took out McLaren’s Jenson Button while attempting an overtaking move. Former drivers Niki Lauda and David Coulthard have warned Vettel that his only chance for a title is if he pursues a more cautious approach to racing.
“Vettel is an absolute super-talent but he’s taken excessive risks,” said Lauda. “One more mistake and his world championship will be over.”
Coulthard explained Vettel’s recent rash driving to the German’s lack of experience and young age. “I see a young man who is suffering from his first spell of growing pains,” said Coulthard.
